Stages of motor learning and the teaching-learning process in swimming

A formal swimming learning occurs through a direct interaction between teacher and learner. The aim of this study is to present models for classification in stages discuss their implications the teaching-learning process swimming. This narrative review was carried out bibliographic research. We used qualitative exploratory approaches. Models proposed by Adams (1971), Fitts Posner, (1967), Gentile (1972) categorize into several stages, accounting characteristics learners environment. To enhance skills, must recognize which learner finds himself, establish efficient teaching strategies. stage identification affects manipulation variables that interfere learning, such as setting goals, selecting content, choosing appropriate strategies assessing regardless stroke. Even though some points will differ styles, specificity, specificity errors, informational demand, amount practice, it teacher's role relationship student contents be taught process.
